Between Two Worlds, Fire Walk With Me on my time in Twin Peaks. Diane, I think these artists even had detailed accounts of my dreams. It’s really something to see, Diane.” The show is curated by Echo Echo Gallery. We’re a group of artists from Seattle that put on a monthly show at The Greenwood Collective for the Phinneywood Second Friday art walk. After a few meetings where we kept talking about Twin Peaks we thought, “Why not just do a Twin Peaks show?”. Of course, we couldn’t keep this amazing idea to ourselves, so we recruited other talented Seattle artists to join in
showing their work inspired by the show. We’ll be supplying the pie and coffee, DJ Shane Deegan will be bringing the Twin Peaks sound and guests are encouraged to dress as your favorite character.

August is a special artwalk for the Phinneywood neighborhood – we close the streets and invite everyone out! Look for our Twin Peaks themed games outside and follow the “Welcome to Twin Peaks” sign for art. Aug_InTheRed

In The Red Wine Bar & Cafe: 6510 Phinney Ave N
Ireland panoramic by Doug Plummer. The western edge of Ireland, particularly County Clare, captured me like no other place on earth. I approached the landscape and the culture with an investigative curiosity, and a deeply felt connection that defies explanation. Maybe it is the stories, unknown to me, the outsider, that have been attached to the land and carry a force that affects my gaze. It is certainly the look of that inimitable landscape, shaped by thousands of years of human habitation to the point where architecture has melded into geology. Whatever the source, the resulting photographs are my attempt to extract meaning from the encounter.

Doug Plummer is a commercial and fine art photographer and filmmaker. He is widely published around the world in advertisements and magazines, and has had numerous one-man and group shows around the country. He is a graduate of The Evergreen State College and resides in Seattle’s Bryant neighborhood with his wife Robin and their cat Shadow. Artist present.

Kouzina: 8403 Greenwood Ave N

Artist statement:
I have always been drawn to bold colors and bright lights, which is evident within my work. I use very broad brushstrokes and try not to get
caught up in all the little details. Through the brushstrokes of paint I can express what I cannot always say.

Film photography to Giclée prints on canvas by Joel Clarin. Joel chooses to work with traditional film cameras, then creates traditional silver gelatin prints or Giclée prints on canvas. Presenting 10 year old abstract artist, Jaden Mansfield.

Artist Bio:
My name is Jaden Mansfield.  I am 10 years old and will be starting 5th grade this year at St John School.  I did my first painting when I was 3 ½ years old.  I thought of it after we went to the Seattle Art Museum and I saw Robert Rauschenberg’s Octave. Over a few years I have learned to make much larger abstract  paintings filled with more brilliant colors, textures and new materials. I love Jackson Pollock and how all of his paint is poured on from a can or dripped on with a paint brush.  I do both of those things too in my paintings but I do them in a different way.  I am very excited to be able to show my work at Summer Streets.

Works Progress to Celebrate National Coworking Week & Host New Artist David McCrae! Join us at Works Progress to celebrate the last day of National Coworking Week! This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about coworking and how to get involved. Refreshments will be served and we’ll be showing art from artist David McCrae.

About the artist:
I began photographing with a Kodak Brownie and started learning the process of photography from my grandparents in Colorado, both dedicated amateur photographers and naturalists. Process was left behind for theory while studying art history at the University of California, San Diego, although chemistry and the beach kept interfering.

The history of photography is replete with examples of image capture without a camera. This series, ‘From a Scanner, Darkly,’ began when travel schedules left no time to work with film. Instead, the rapidly emerging technologies of scanner, computer and inkjet printer became my substitute for photosensitive materials and a darkroom. The subject matter came from the pantry and the garden. Food and flowers; simple subjects but not mundane, for they feed the body and the mind.

We shop weekly at the Pike Place Market for our food. Over the years we have developed relationships with a number of vendors, including DeLaurenti’s, Don and Joe’s Meats, Pike Place Fish, Frank’s Quality Produce, Alm Hill Farm and Pike and Western Wines. We share lives, recipes and beauty with these people. I have started photographing their products to honor them for what they provide
