From the Red Carpet at the VMA’s to Tasty’s Trunk Sale, Hourglass Footwear is making headlines across the globe and it all started with two women, here in Seattle, barely a year ago. http://www.seattlemet.com/style-and-shopping/shop-talk/articles/customized-in-seattle-august-2013
Here’s the story of Hourglass Footwear in their own words:
ONE NIGHT ONLY at TASTY!
Wednesday, September 25th, 2013 from 6-9pm
7513 Greenwood Ave N. Seattle, WA 98103
HANDPAINTED CUSTOM SHOES + JEWELRY + CHOCOLATE WINE + BEATS + PICS
It’s a TRUNK SALE for HOURGLASS footwear that will include jewelry by Manya Vee, chocolate wine sips from the Chocolate Shop, unique music beats by DJ Miss Shelrawka and a photobooth provided by Vitamin Dee.
Here’s some background on the participants…
These 9 ladies bring a whole new meaning to wearing art. We met the founders, Kira Bundlie and Lisa Strom at Urban Craft Uprising this past summer, whose mission is to help their customers express their unique style and personality through original hand-painted footwear. We immediately started a plan to bring their triple sealed footwear to Tasty shoppers.
NBC’s The Today Show called their chocolate wine “Pure Heaven” and the Wine Spectator blessed it as their favorite chocolate-flavored red wine. What? You haven’t tried it yet. With 7 varieties currently available, there are so many ways to indulge. In 2012 they pulled in some nice awards for their chocolate red wine too. Join us for a taste…
Manya Vee Jewelry
Her new line of contemporary pieces were created to stand the test of time and get handed down as treasures from one generation to the next. They blend Japanese simplicity with Western sophistication.
Her “about us” says that she blasted onto the Seattle music scene with an army of melodies and a head full of funk. We like her already. A transplant from nyc where she was known for lighting up the dance floors, “her mixing is as clean as her track selection is nasty!” come listen with us, she’s said their could be some funk saturated bass-lines!
Vitamin Dee Photography
Get snapped in your new heels by Dee. This is a girl who after posting a photo on MySpace of DJ Sneak at Escape in Amsterdam, was asked to become a rep for Om Records in NYC. Plus her photo of Andy Dick in LA was published in PDN (Photo District News) as a Top 100 Finalist in the annual One Life Photography Competition and she still finds time to be featured in Seattle’s annual Erotic Art Festival.
*Yet another arts event that is part of WEAVE’s month long festival. Learn more about Seattle’s Urban & New Contemporary Art Fest by visiting weaveseattle.com, runs September 5-28.
