Tasty will be closing it’s retail storefront at 7513 Greenwood Ave N. in Seattle Washington on January 31, 2014. The gallery’s owner, Sheri Hauser, says “I feel truly lucky to have had the opportunity to serve the public, my neighborhood, and the local art community for the past four years.” Since opening Tasty, Sheri worked hard to promote her Phinney Ridge & Greenwood neighborhood. She was a founding member of the business advisory board at the Phinney Neighborhood Association and is one of the directors of the Greenwood Arts Council. With the help of a handful of other passionate neighborhood Art Walk organizers, she formed a non-profit called the Art Walk Consortium and launched http://www.SeattleArtWalks.org in the service of promoting all 14 independently produced monthly art walks Seattle-wide.
In the four years of running Tasty, Sheri sold original artworks and handmade products, from over 250 different regional artists, building and nurturing those relationships, including members of her own family! Her husband Sean paints and custom makes Funko toys, her mother and sister–in-law are both ceramic artists and even her daughter has sold paintings at Tasty! By-The-Way: Sean says they are having a HUGE toy clearance sale starting December 1st and running all month and into January with new (in-box) bobble-heads selling for as cheap as $3.00!
Please join Sheri & Sean on Friday the 13th of December for their FINAL HOLIDAY ART SHOWCASE during PhinneyWood’s Art Up & Chow Down event from 6-10pm. Champagne and hot chocolate will be flowing. December hours will include being back open on Sundays from 12-5, plus the usual Tuesday-Saturday 11-6 (open til 7pm closer to Christmas).
PS: To inquire about renting their 1,000 sq ft storefront after February, contact the new building owners, Steve and Diana of Sip & Ship (who moved in next door) at 7511 Greenwood (206) 890-9810.
