Roger Willsie has attended many classes and workshops for instruction and inspiration. With a lifelong interest in art, he only began practicing his passion after academic work and a career in economics, followed by more college and a second career in mental health. Classes and workshops in art have been with professional artists at various locations and often at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle, Washington, where Roger resides. Locations of workshops have included, as well as Seattle, Colorado, North Carolina, New York City, Italy, and France.
Roger’s favorite medium is oil but he also works in acrylic and other media. Subjects are varied; urban scenes with figures, including street musicians, are a common subject. Baylie’s heroes are mostly under the age of 7, or are grown-ups who wish they still were. She finds inspiration while walking her dog, while on the yoga mat, and most often when she’s not even looking.
