Bill’s on Greenwood: 8560 Greenwood Ave N
Acrylic paintings on canvas and wood panels.  Cartoony, colorful, and silly art meant to be fun to look at. Eli Wolff is a Seattle native who makes art designed to get people to laugh.  His fondness for cartoons, sci-fi and fantasy book covers, 70s movie posters, and all kinds of pop-culture often creep into his work.  He loves visual puns and geeky mash-ups.  Some of his paintings start off just as a funny phrase and slowly evolve into a full painting.  Other times the painting comes first and then the title of the piece reveals itself. Artist present from 6-7pm

Epiphany Balm flyer2015

Phinney Center Gallery: 6532 Phinney Ave North

Epiphany Balm: The art of Karen Luke Fildes and Bernadette Merikle at the Phinney Center Gallery
Karen Luke Fildes’ new works search for innocence during change… poetic oil compositions from observations of “soft water”.  Karen hopes for softer transitions for the children of this generation as she searches for epiphanies in her work.  The process is the balm.  Bernadette Merikle is an art experimentalist who loves contrasts and juxtapositions. In this show, her series titled Everyday Blurred Lines is a collection of tiny photographs that beg the viewer to come closer. To slow down. To take a moment. To sift through the blur and the glare.  Come meet the artists at their opening reception on Friday, February 13th from 7-9 pm at the Phinney Center Gallery.
