Featured Artist: Laura Moreno

Laura shares her love of nature in the whimsical sketches she creates. Her current medium is colored pencils. She uses her art to spread positivity and serves her belief the world needs more loving kindness. Her animals come to life on the page; they will surely make you smile and want to find out their story.

Laura has lived the Greater Seattle area for over 20 years with her husband. Aside from art classes in her early schooling she has no formal training. She mostly self-taught through books and random online classes. She continues to seek artistic growth.

Her mission is to spread joy and make people smile – if even for a few minutes. Her work is multi layered with subtle details. Looking at her work repeatedly, small details will continue to emerge.

Featuring works by four artists

Jenica Cruz

Jenica is a Seattle designer and illustrator who is currently exploring grotesque comedy and mystery in fleshy symbioses.

Sarah Anderson

Obsessed with upcycling and craving variety, what I create is always changing. Recently I’ve been shamelessly into color and how therapeutic it can be, especially during a Seattle winter. I’m also metatarsal-deep in a new series inspired by Orville Peck, whom hath burst the walls of my heart chakra completely, and udder-ly (cowfolk pun intended), open. Yee haw.

Leah Wohl-Pollack

Leah is a resident artist at Venn Gallery in the Greenwood Art Collective. Through mixed media collage, painting, illustration, and printmaking, she explores primordial fears and the questions that lie at the root of anxiety. Celestial Bodies is a series of original collagraphs (collage prints) that envision galaxies and nebulae as physical beings adrift in the vastness of space.

Caustice Ichor

Caustice is a Seattle based artist, who finds inspiration from rabbits and Rococo/Victorian era fashions. Caustice is driven to create by flashes of color and emotion evoked by certain sights, smells, textures and sounds. Works are on display in the pinball room through February.

Featured Artist:  Veronica Sauer

Veronica Sauer creates paintings rich with daring color. Working from photographs to echo real life, she paints primarily in fast-drying acrylic with larger brushes, prioritizing shape, shadow, scale, and light. Impressionistic brushstrokes formulate mood, depicting emotion and expression. In her current portrait series, this use of abstract realism offers a new perspective on iconic faces, illuminating the inner person and story behind each individual.

In university studies of art history and past travels to the art museums of Europe, Veronica was drawn to the vitality of Expressionism & Fauvism, which drench canvases with rich color contrasts. However, it was not until after a corporate career and the interruption of her active life by a sports-related accident that she followed her passion for creating her own art. Self-taught, she experimented with abstraction before her godmother suggested she try painting faces. Veronica began with a self-portrait and went on to paint people she admired, was motivated by, or for whom she was thankful. Exposure, via gallery representation, public art walks, social media, website, and multiple art shows, has fueled VSauerArt private commissions and glowing reviews.

American born and a dual citizen of the U.S. and Germany, Veronica Sauer lives in Seattle and has a studio near Mount Rainier. Whether portraits, wildlife, naturescapes, sports art, or abstracts, her artwork radiates energy and highlights her passion for painting.
