Art was always a class I would sign up for in school. However, it wasn’t until three years ago that I became familiar with a paint brush & different mediums of paint. I started out with ‘Tacoma Rocks’ after finding a cute little Ladybug rock. I remember my grandmother painting Ladybug rocks for her garden, so I decided to give it a try. Canvas is still fairly new to me, but I do enjoy painting on the larger flatter surfaces. My style is definitely whimsical and colorful.
I hope you enjoy my art.

Obsessed with upcycling and craving variety, what I create is always changing. Recently I’ve been shamelessly into color and how therapeutic it can be, especially during a Seattle winter. I’m also metatarsal-deep in a new series inspired by Orville Peck, whom hath burst the walls of my heart chakra completely, and udder-ly (cowfolk pun intended), open. Yee haw. Instagram: @damb.yeah

Leah is a resident artist at Venn Gallery in the Greenwood Art Collective. Through mixed media collage, painting, illustration, and printmaking, she explores primordial fears and the questions that lie at the root of anxiety. Celestial Bodies is a series of original collagraphs (collage prints) that envision galaxies and nebulae as physical beings adrift in the vastness of space. Instagram: @thevelourax

Featured Artist: Karen Johanson
Karen Johanson is a Pacific Northwest photographer whose work utilizes the alternative process of cyanotypes to showcase imagery that is frequently focused on urban life – everything from graffiti to architectural elements. Because cyanotypes rely on a single hue – blue – to relay the specifics of an image, the viewer can focus on abstract elements in a way that moves the mind away from the representational and to the inner world of contemplation.

Black & white film photography by Ryan Synovec. Shot with a “Holga” plastic toy camera and infrared film, the uniquely beautiful image created is soft, muted, never truly in focus, giving a somewhat surreal feel to each image. His images have been published several times in Black & White magazine and also in Shadow and Light magazine. They have been shown in solo and group exhibitions across the country.
